I provided development dramaturgy for the all digital 2021 Modern Works Festival at Urbanite Theatre. I worked on This is a Mortality Play Set in an Office Depot by Haley Nelson. Developing a play over Zoom presents unique challenges. Especially for such an embodied play which rejects being over-intellectualized. I came up with the solution to use Google Jamboard as a creative mood board. I asked the actors to add images, Gifs, quotes, feelings, etc to the Jamboard as rehearsal progressed in order to encourage more embodied feedback than just spoken.
