While my MA is in Acting, E15 actor training had a heavy emphasis on dramaturgy, contextual research, and script analysis. Training also emphasized international theatre styles, devising, artistic collaboration, Shakespeare, movement, voice and extended improvisation. I’ve always been a highly dramaturgical actor – undertaking significant actor-centric research for each contract. Recently, I've begun to formalize and rigorously pursue my natural instinct towards dramaturgy. I'm curious to 'make it up as I go' and seek out mentors. Unlike acting, for which I have extensive formalized training, I'm intrigued by the possibilities of innovation inherent in learning dramaturgy by doing. In the current zeitgeist, it has become urgently important to me to make space for important stories. I wish to contribute to a progressive society through dramaturgical story-telling and to become a more active conduit for change through art.
